At 11:30 pm last night, I joined the private data server to the domain in the colo facility and of course that requires a restart. Restarted, waited, waited, ... waited. After 5 minutes I was getting scared. The server wasn't there! It was as if I choose shutdown instead of restart. And, I had no way to get it back remotely.
So, I jumped into the Explorer and drove the 13 miles to the colo, got inside, the server was running, but still no access on the BackNet. Hooked up the monitor and found out it restarted with the Windows FireWall ON! And the FireWall was working really good! Note to self: next time make sure the service for the FireWall is DISABLED.
